Andhra Pradesh Assembly had adopted an unanimous resolution seeking Special Category Status to the truncated state. After a heated discussion in the house amid a big blame game between the ruling and opposition party, the resolution was passed and it will be sent to the center. The Chief Minister himself moved the resolution urging the Union Government to implement the assurances made by former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on the floor of Rajya Sabha on February 20, 2014.
The resolution also reminds the center about promises like tax incentives to promote industrialization and economic growth, special development package, release of balance grant to bridge the revenue deficit, establishment of all educational institutions and provision of infrastructure facilities provided in schedule XIII, implementation of Section 8, early completion of Polavaram irrigation project etc.
Chandrababu also clarified to Jagan that he can not blackmail the center government over coming out of NDA government since it is necessary for the Center to hand-hold Andhra Pradesh till the it achieved a level-playing field with neighbouring States.Follow Mirchi9 on Google NewsThis Week Releases on OTT – Check ‘Rating’ Filter
