yanamala ramakrishnudu-Etela Rajendra PrasadTelangana government is planning to put up a whopping 1.4 Lakh Crore budget for 2016-17. CM KCR reportedly insisted the officials to ensure the next budget hits a figure that AP can not match. Telangana budget will be pegging planned expenditure at 62000 Crore while non-plan expenditure will be between 78000-80000 Crore.

In fact AP reported higher GDSP than Telangana but the Chief Minister is keen on making Telangana economy to appear bigger than AP for political reasons. AP is likely to come up with a 1.3 Lakh budget as indicated by finance minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu last week.

Irrespective of the volume of budgets they put up, both the states are lagging in reaching even half of the budgetary targets they put up. They should better concentrate on effective financial management.
