YS Jagan Mohan Reddy Government’s prestigious Project YSR Vedadri Project in Krishna district Jagayyapeta came to a Grinding halt. The project is planned with 489 Crore estimated budget and the works have started one year back.
The contractor has completed 30% works already but now pulled out of the project since the Government is not releasing funds. The works were stopped one month ago and the company has also started shifting the machinery from the project site.
The technical staff and other employees were also sent back. Only the security guards are at the project site. This is a sad reflection of the pathetic financial situation in Andhra Pradesh. Contractors are shying away from taking up new works in Andhra Pradesh as the Government is defaulting on the payments for several months.
We have recently seen contractors not even bidding for the new building of Amaravati high Court for the same reason.
