Anant Ambani, the third and last child of industrialist Mukesh Ambani is all set to tie the knot with Radhika Merchant, his childhood friend. The duo has been friends for years, though the match was officially fixed by both families.
Following Isha Ambani’s 7 billion wedding in 2018, the Ambanis are once again set to have the world in awe as they have kick-started the celebrations’ their style’. And if reports are to be believed, then this one is going to be even bigger than the last time.
Though the wedding date is not revealed yet, from January 18, the first of the ceremonies from a string of ceremonies started that will be attended by some of the biggest names from across the world till the wedding day.
Remember, during Isha’s wedding; the Ambanis flew in Beyonce? Today saw the mehendi function, where henna is applied to the bride and groom’s hands along with their family members.
Radhika looked resplendent in a Fuschia pink lehenga by Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla. The rest of the ceremonies will follow till the final wedding day. Radhika is the daughter of industrialist Viren Merchant and is a member of the board of directors of Encore Healthcare.
Anant is a graduate of Brown University, Rhode Island, and is deeply involved with his father’s business, including Indian Premier League, in which the family owns the Mumbai Indians team. He leads Reliance energy and Jio Platforms, among others.
It can be recalled that Anant and Radhika were engaged in a gorgeous and rather pious ceremony on December 29 at Ambani’s residence, following which the family performed rituals at Shrinathji temple in Nathdwara. Age-old traditions like Gol Dhana and Chunari Vidhi were performed. While Gol Dhana literally means jaggery and coriander seeds, they are distributed among family and friends during the ‘Rasm.’
