We do have our respect for alternate medicine but then, it is not advisable to follow something in the middle of a pandemic until its efficacy is proven scientifically.
But what has happened in Andhra Pradesh courtesy of political parties and media is something irresponsible of huge magnitude. A look at the ground makes it clear that a huge majority of people are no longer trusting science and are on full-on revenge mode on private hospitals and doctors.
Despite its flaws, it is the very system that helped society for more than a year. This has been a dangerous precedent that may misfire very badly. This is at the time when there are some unconfirmed reports of the medicine leading to eye conjunctivitis. While AP Government speaks of testing the efficacy, there is a full-on promotional drive by the ruling party leaders to take the credit of Corona medicine.
The Opposition is also playing to the tunes of popular opinion. The Central Government has been a mute spectator for the whole episode which is more baffling. Even if it ends up safe if not helpful, the damage it has created on public perception about science is huge.
