BJP has decided to field its Party President, Amit Shah in the Rajya Sabha elections in Gujarat which will happen in the first week of August. Amit Shah who is an MLA from Gujarat until now will be taken into Modi‘s Cabinet.
He may be given the crucial portfolios of Home or Defense. This will make sure that Amit Shah who is Number 2 in the Party until now will also be the Number 2 in the Government. At some point, he may emerge as the party’s Prime Minister Candidate after Modi.
Three Rajya Sabha Seats in Gujarat are up for grabs. According to the numbers, BJP is entitled to two while Congress will get one. Congress is fielding Sonia Gandhi’s Political Advisor, Ahmed Patel from there. BJP will put up the third candidate to prevent him getting elected.
