Amid Corona Crisis, Jagan Govt To Do More Homework on English MediumEven as Corona cases in Andhra Pradesh are on a rise, the State Government seems to be focused on issues like Capital Change and Introducing the English Medium in Schools. After High Court stuck down the G.O.s mandating English medium in the schools, the AP Government is keen on doing more homework before approaching the Supreme Court.

The Government had given one more assignment to the Volunteers. They have to collect the medium of choice in schools from parents in prescribed forms. The Government is taking parents’ choice for a further legal course. Interestingly, the Government also held Parents Meetings in schools and placed those resolutions asking for English Medium before the High Court.

“This is an unnecessary Ego. The volunteers are involved in the Door to Door health survey. They are also involved in the distribution of pensions etc. There is uncertainty if the schools will begin on time for the next academic year. This is a needless distraction to them amid the crisis,” people say.

Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is keen on implementing the decision for the next academic year itself. The government planned to introduce the English medium from the next academic year in Government schools from the first standard to the sixth initially. From then, in the next four years, one more class will be covered right up to SSC every year. The Government targeted the English medium in all the cases in the next four years.
