Amaravati to become AP's 14th districtThe state government will very soon make Amaravati, the capital region of Andhra Pradesh as the 14th district of the state. The revenue department is already preparing proposals for the formation of the new district.

Most states have their capital region as districts. This will help to sort of the confusion that may arise in future as CRDA region is carved out of Guntur and Krishna districts. Once the proposals are done, the state cabinet have to approve it.

Earlier CM Chandrababu Naidu said that every Lok Sabha constituency in the state will be made as a district which means the state will have 25 districts in total. But the state government is not forming all the districts at this point due to economical issues.
