Farmers in the Amaravati Region of Andhra Pradesh came forward and co-operated for a monumental land pooling scheme which has got around 33000 acres for the project. This is the biggest and most successful Land Pooling scheme in the history of Independent India which stunned the Political Experts across the country.
Usually, such mega projects are bound to get resisted by the people there and obviously, Opposition parties will sense a big opportunity. But then for YSR Congress, it has backfired completely. Despite the best efforts, Jagan could not make an impact on the region.
Further, TDP is successful in portraying Jagan as anti-Development and anti-Amaravati. Jagan’s claims of giving back the lands to farmers only meant that the real boom will come down crashing and farmers who have given their lands will be at a big loss.
Now, TDP government has successfully convinced the Central Government to extend Capital Gains Tax Exemption to the farmers on the land transactions in Amaravati.
