Amaravati Gears up for Its First Caste Agitation - MudragadaKapu Strongman Mudragada Padmanabham is gearing up for yet another agitation demanding Reservations for Kapu Caste. This time Mudragada is planning a walkathon from his native village, Kirlampudi to Amaravati, the new capital of AP from 26th of July.

This is the first caste based agitation in the new capital of Andhra Pradesh. On the other side, Manjunadha Commission appointed to look into the issue had finished the ground level survey in all the districts and is yet to submit its final recommendations to the government.

As the assembly elections are just two years away, Mudragada is gearing up to increase the stir. Given that Telangana government has increased Reservations for Muslims and STs in the neighboring state, Mudragada has become further ambitious.

There are reports that differences have crept in Kapu Community backing Mudragada as they feel that he has added political colour to the agitation and got a bad name to the entire issue and community. They feel the movement lost steam right at the start when Ratnachal Express is torched.
