Amaravati Future in A Sealed CoverEver since the announcement of the Three Capitals formula, the farmers who have given their lands for Amaravati are in a panic. They are resorting to massive protests alleging that the Government is trying to stifle their future and livelihood. Meanwhile, the experts’ committee headed by GN Rao met CM Jagan a little while ago.

The committee report was handed over to the Government in a sealed cover. The committee also explained various issues in their report to the Chief Minister. The report will be tabled in the Cabinet meeting on December 27th and once it is approved, the report will be made public.

Sources tell us that the committee is also likely to propose the three capitals idea and meanwhile, the government is also finalizing the locations for shifting the Executive capital from Amaravati to Visakhapatnam. Sources within the Government say that the shifting of executive capital may be completed within the next six to seven months if the proposed plans go well.

Meanwhile, Secretariat Employees Association elections took place today and the newly elected body which is expected to be close to the Government will likely give a statement of their opinion on the shifting executive capital. Sources added that this statement may be in favor of the government’s decision with certain conditions.
