Amaravati Farmers Try to Obstruct Jagan's ConvoyThe Agitation of Amaravati farmers against the Trifurcation of the Capital has entered the 21st day. As the high power committee appointed to study the GN Rao Committee and Boston Consulting Group Reports is having its first meeting today, the farmers have intensified their agitation.

Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy also faced the heat. While the Chief Minister’s convoy is going to the Secretariat, farmers have squatted on the roads demanding justice for them. A few women in Mandadam also tried to obstruct the convoy and that led to high tension in the area.

They displayed placards and shouted ‘Jai Amaravati‘ slogans. The Police have interfered and dispersed the crowd. They demanded that Jagan should rethink about the trifurcation of the Capital. They questioned how capital is good for five years has suddenly become not viable/useful now.

Meanwhile, the first meeting of the High Power Committee which was supposed to happen in the CRDA office was changed to the APTIDCO office in the last minute fearing protests.
