Chirala MLA Amanchi Krishna Mohan has won the last elections as an Independent and later joined the Telugu Desam Party. Amanchi has met YS Jagan Mohan Reddy a little while ago and has announced that he will be joining the party very soon. This is a big blow for TDP as Amanchi is known to be a strong leader.
Amanchi is the third MLA to leave TDP after Ravela Kishore Babu and Meda Mallikarjuna Reddy left the party. But Amanchi is the only strong leader to go away from the party. TDP has to blame itself for Amanchi leaving the party. Pothula Sunitha who lost in Chirala in 2014 elections was given a free hand in the constituency.
This did not go well with Amanchi. Despite several complaints, Chandrababu Naidu did not take corrective measures. Despite assurances from Chandrababu Naidu the last week, Amanchi chose to still change the party. YSR Congress welcomed him with open arms since they have weak leadership in Chirala.
