With high court and Supreme court ruling, the municipal elections are finally going to happen after three years of postponement. Election commission had announced the schedule for these elections a short while ago. The total 10 Municipal Corporations and 146 Municipalities will go to polls on a single day i.e., March 30th.
This elections now get a lot of importance as they happen just a month and half before the 2014 Assembly elections. They are being termed as Semi finals to the big war which will happen later in May. The elections will happen on Party symbols and will give an indication regarding who is going to be the final winner. So, all the political parties have taken these elections very prestigious.
March 10th to 13th – Nominations will be accepted in Municipal Corporations
March 10th to 14th – Nominations will be accepted in Municipalities
Last date of Nominations – March 14th
March 15th – Nominations finalizing
Last date for Nominations Withdrawal – March 18th
Polling date – March 30th
Counting and Results – April 2nd.
