The attention of the nation is on Varanasi as it goes to polls on May 12th – the last phase of Parliament Elections. Varanasi is one of the seats contested by Narendra Modi, the BJP’s Prime Ministerial candidate and challenging him in the fray is Aam Admi Party’s Arvind Kejriwal. Congress had fielded Ajay Rai against Modi and Congress Big wigs have canvassed intensely for him.
Varanasi is in news for the last few days after EC declining permission for Modi’s Road show and later for Modi staging a protest in Varanasi. Today is the last day of campaign in Varnasi and the attention of media and political circles is on this constituency. It is said that Kejriwal managed to garner support from the minorities and with both AAP and Congress biting in to the chunk of minority voters, experts say Modi will be at an advantage.
