The Central government is planning to modernize Secunderabad railway station, one of the busiest and oldest railway stations. An airport like ambiance has been planned for the station with restaurants and various stalls resembling a mall.
The budget is anticipated to be about 4,000 crores just to renovate the building and an overall investment goes to 25,000 crores. The draft for the development plan has been made and is for approval by the authorities. Secunderabad is one of those stations that connect south and north railways and is one of the 44 stations that are chosen for the development.
Not only Secunderabad, but Vishakapatnam and Vijayawada have also been included in the development plan according to the sources. Hyderabad is already under the process of constructing metro, and this modernization of Secunderabad railway station is going to add spark to the twin cities.
