Ahead of Jagan's Tirumala Tour, TTD's Decades-Old Rule TweakedAndhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy will be arriving in Tirumala to submit the Silk Clothes to the Lord during the Brahmotsavalu. Whenever Jagan visits Tirumala, there comes a controversy of him not signing the Register meant for the people of other religions. Signing the Register means declaring that the concerned person has faith in the Lord.

Signing the Register is mandated by G.O. Ms. No: 311 of the Revenue Department given in 1990. Despite the Temple staff insisting, Jagan refused to sign the register in the previous instances. We all know Jagan is a practicing Christian. Since there is a chance of the controversy coming back, TTD Chairman and Jagan’s Uncle, YV Subbareddy tweaked the rule once for all.

“There is no need for any person to sign a declaration in Tirumala. Anyone even if he is from the other religion can visit Tirumala and have Darshan if he has faith in the Lord. It is not possible to check everyone who is coming to Tirumala,” Subbareddy said. He even went on to say there is no evangelism in Tirumala or any part of the state.

The devotees of the Lord are fuming at this politics in Tirumala. “Jagan can be headstrong not to sign the register like the previous instances but it is not right to do away the rule for political convenience which will help the evangelists to come to Tirumala and resort to Evangelism. The government should stop playing with Hindu sentiments,” they say.
