The Telugu States are just recovering from the threat of Swine Flu which claimed many lifes in both the states particularly in Telangana. Now a red alert is issued in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana after the break out of Bird Flu in areas of Ranga Reddy district on the outskirts of Hyderabad.
Hundreds of Chicken in 2 poultry farms there were dead all of sudden and up on pathological inspection, it is found that they were affected by bird flu, also known as avian influenza or H5N1 virus.
The 2 Lakh birds in the surroundings were culled and sounded an alert in districts near Hyderabad and has also issued an advisory to the neighbouring Andhra Pradesh. The culled birds are buried deep in huge pits. The officials of animal husbandry and veterinary department, who may have exposed themselves to the infected birds were also given immediate medical attention.
