YSR Congress government finally gave its nod to begin the function of the Pattiseema Project. The Project Engineer after receiving the orders started two pumps and pumped 700 cusecs of water into Polavaram Right Canal. If the water flow gets better, more motors will be switched on.
YS Jagan Mohan Reddy strictly opposed the project while in the Opposition and termed it completely useless. He alleged that the project was brought only to fill the pockets of the Telugu Desam Government. He questioned, however, Pattiseema is anything useful for Krishna Delta with no storage.
But for the last few years, the then TDP Government proved him wrong by doing the same. Polavaram almost pumped 100 TMCs of water to Krishna Delta last year. Jagan Government waited for the monsoons to arrive so that Patiseema is not needed but the monsoons got delayed and the crops in Krishna Delta got affected.
After a lot of hue and cry from the farmers, the government was forced to switch on the Project motors. The Project was made operational at least two weeks late when compared to the last year. TDP fans are ridiculing that this is the Script written by God to ensure that Jagan agrees to Chandrababu’s Foresight.
