JaganChief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has finally taken a decision about the new Chairman of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam. After 45 days of brain-storming, he has decided to continue his uncle YV Subba Reddy for one more term. Subba Reddy’s earlier term ended on June 22nd.

However, the government is likely to make changes to the board members. There is a massive demand to be on the board from states outside Andhra Pradesh as well. There will be a couple of recommendations from the BJP central unit as well. So, Jagan has to carefully appoint the board members.

YV Subba Reddy was not very keen on a second term. He wants to get a cabinet berth in Jagan’s team but the Chief Minister thought otherwise. The re-appointment means YV’s wish will not turn true before the 2024 elections. Meanwhile, Jagan already announced that there will be a major overhaul of the cabinet after two and a half years.

80% of the cabinet will be replaced by newcomers so that more leaders who worked for the party can be given a chance. The exercise for the rejig has started.
