Acquisition Bomb on Reluctant Amaravati FarmersAndhra Pradesh government is moving forward to take the left over 3549.61 acres in the Capital Area. Already the land acquisition notifications are given for 18 villages. The exercise will begin with 4.33 acres in Nelapadu Village.

According to the formula of 2013 Land Acquisition Act, the land price for the acquisition has arrived at 16.03 Lakhs per acre. But then, the market rate was around 1.5 Crore. So, this is likely to give rise to a big controversy now. The Land Acquisition Price may increase in other villages where there are fertile lands.

The government has collected more than 33000 acres under the land pooling scheme. These 3549.41 acres are in bits and pieces scattered all over the capital area. So, the acquisition has become imminent now. The government will still allow Land Pooling Scheme if the farmers are interested.
