Achanta assembly constituency of West Godavari district has seen YSR Congress victory in 2019. Cherukuwada Sri Ranganadha Raju defeated former minister Pithani Satyanarayana here.
CM Jagan Mohan Reddy immediately took him into his cabinet. Pithani like many TDP leaders became silent and also had to face some cases in Jagan’s regime.
Sri Ranganadha Raju who used to be active when he was Minister had disappeared after losing it. He is seen no where in the constituency and the party cadre also became silent here.
At the same time, Pithani is not using the opportunity too. Janasena on the other hand has no leadership here despite the significant presence of Kapu population.
As a result, all parties are like in hibernation mode. But then, TDP and Janasena had an Unofficial alliance here in local elections and registered good results.
So, an alliance can shift the balance against YSR Congress any time. But then, TDP and Janasena should hit the streets without leaving so much for the last minute.
