News on the announcement of the new capital of Seemandhra is supposed to be out soon. MP, Jairam Ramesh, has spoken in a meet about the works to be done for establishing a new government in Seemandhra and deciding on a capital, during the process. A committee has been formed that will make surveys and finally submit a report on most feasible city for the capital, to the central government.

Kurnool, Tirupathi, Ongole, Nellore, Guntur, Vijayawada and Vishakapatnam are the top contenders for the new capital of Seemandhra and the decision will be taken only after consulting the state government, he explained. There should at least be 5000-8000 acres of government land in the city for it to get the capital status and apart from that, good water facilities and accessibility to other cities and towns are required.

There will also be an establishment of a new Railway Zone in Seemandhra region within the period of six months, according to the act. A high court and other mandatory features will be established soon. Things are moving on quickly and the eagerness to know about the future of the state keeps on growing.
