The US is getting to see the immense talent of Indians in almost all fields firsthand. The latest is the robust 50 Indian-American teens being among 300 semi-finalists in the Regeneron Science Talent Search 2023. The Search is the nation’s oldest and most prestigious science and math competition for high school seniors.
As per tradition, 300 scholars are selected from 1949 applicants from 627 high schools across America and four other countries. The Indian-American teens, like others in their leagues, will be awarded $2000 each, and the schools will be awarded $2000 for each enrolled scholar.
The Indian teens have been chosen for their outstanding research, leadership skills, community involvement, academics, creativity, asking scientific questions, and promise as STEM leaders, which was showcased through their original and independent projects.
On January 24, 40 out of 300 will be declared as finalists who will then compete for more than $1.8 million in awards during a week-long competition in Washington DC that will take place between March 9 and 15.
