Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kochi, and Trichy are among the 20% of airports in Asia that have been ranked by Airports Council International (ACI) for 2022.
However, none of them could make it to new categories such as ‘most enjoyable airport,’ ‘easiest airport journey,’ and ‘airport with most dedicated staff,’ among others.
While Delhi airport was ranked among the top 5 cleanest airports in Asia, Bengaluru was ranked among the best three ‘arrival airports’ globally.
Airports handle 40 million travelers annually, and it is they who vote for airports based on the day of their travel. About 340 airports are rated, and of them, two from India and three from China found their place in the list.
Surprisingly, Hyderabad Airport was voted the best airport in the 15-25 million category. Tiruchirapally won the best airport award in the under 2 million categories.
