dead tigers freezer temple thailandIn an incident that put to limelight the extreme brutality shown towards animals, a temple in Thailand was found to be keeping forty dead tiger cubs in its freezer. The Buddhist temple in question is already a controversial tourist attraction where travellers were allowed to take photographs with tigers.

However when allegations emerged against the temple regarding it being involved in wildlife trafficking and abuse, the police officers in the area were tasked to conduct a raid on the compound Monday in an effort to evacuate and relocate 137 tigers. In the process, it was discovered that the temple was keeping 40 dead cubs in the freezer.

After this discovery, officials have said that they would be investigating whether the carcasses were evidence of the temple’s involvement in the illegal wildlife trade and would also be bringing additional charges against the temple.
