300 Crore for Telangana government buildings revamp!Telangana government is planning to construct a new secretariat, Assembly and Council. The state government also wants the Indepence day and Republic day celebrations in the same compound. These buildings will come up in 88 acres that will created due to the shifting of Chest Hospital and Institute of Mental Health in Erragadda.

The governement is estimating that these will cost 250 Crore to 300 Crore. The government is planning to build Assembly and Council with a central hall on the lines of Parliament building in Delhi. It is not clear how many floors will be in these buildings. As Erragadda is near to Begumpet Airport, Airports Authority of India (AAI) will take a final call on it.

International architects and contractors will be roped in for the construction. The state government will call for tenders by August this year. The state government wants to complete the construction in one and half year to two years to the maximum. That means, the buildings should be put to use few months before 2019 elections.
