Manpreet Singh was barely 21 years old and had come to New York from Pehowa in India. He was the only child of his parents and was, like many others from that part of the country wanting to try his luck in the United States.
But fate had other plans for him, and he met with a deadly accident on the I-80 highway in Pennsylvania with a truck that was on its way to Indiana. He had a severe head injury and passed away due to it. Unfortunately, his parents are unable to fly to the U.S. due to financial and age constraints.
His community is now raising funds so that Manpreet’s body can be sent back to India and provide some financial support to his parents.
