Two times governor of South Carolina, Republican Gov Nikki Haley, has announced today that she will run for president in 2024, and for now, it looks like she is going to be a major rival to former President Donald Trump.
Nikki Haley says she is proud to have been bought up in the US and says her parents always reminded her and her siblings as to how lucky they were to be in the country. She also says she is neither black nor white but brown and feels the responsibility to deal with fiscal issues, border issues, and various other contentious issues in the US.

Incidentally, she served as US ambassador to the United Nations under Trump. While Trump had already announced he would contest in 2024 though he shared with the media that he had told Haley to go ahead.
Nikki Haley is expected to make an announcement in Charleston at a campaign launch event.
