20,000 Landless Poor to Be Allotted Lands in AmaravatiAndhra Pradesh Government seems to be keen on decimating Amaravati and move forward on its Three Capitals idea. To ensure there is no legal intervention on this issue, the Government had decided to give the lands in Amaravati for the poor as a part of its ‘Lands for the Poor’ scheme.

Accordingly, 20,000 landless poor are going to be allotted lands in three mandals of Amaravati – Mangalagiri, Tadepalli, and Thullur. Guntur district administration already put forth the recommendations to the State Government and the approvals are likely very soon.

“This is a conspiracy against Amaravati. If the lands were allotted the poor, the Government will then claim in the courts that it would not be possible to get those lands vacated. The Government will later claim that there are enough lands for the Capital use and will shift the Capital to Vishakapatnam,” Amaravati Raithu Parirakshana Samiti claims.

On the other side, the Guntur district administration says that the lands were given to the Government and it can use the lands for whatever reasons it feels deemed right. The issue is likely to land in courts now. On the other side, this news ensured that the real estate prices in Amaravati plummet further.
