Andhra Pradesh Government has okayed a VIP Housing Project in Amaravati. In this project, 4016 houses will be constructed for Ministers, MLAs, and Officials in the Capital Region. 3820 house will be in the form of apartments. The majority of those are for the officials.
Individual houses are for the Chief Minister, Ministers, MLAs and HoDs. The entire project is expected to cost 1991 Crore for the state exchequer. The state government is also planning a housing project for Journalists in Amaravati.
Pooling funds for this project are crucial now for the state government which is suffering from severe financial crunch. Entire administration has shifted to Amaravati and is operating from Rented or Temporary Accommodations in the Capital area.
