A mysterious disease in Eluru is creating a sensation in Andhra Pradesh. Patients are arriving at hospitals in huge numbers with symptoms of epilepsy and vomiting. The victims are coming to the hospitals since last night.
So far, 227 victims are being treated at various hospitals. While the recovery rate is also good, more and more patients are coming to the hospitals. The majority of the patients are children. The medical experts could not even say what is the disease and why it happened.
The opposition alleges that this is due to water contamination. Interestingly, Eluru is the own constituency of Andhra Pradesh Health Minister, Alla Nani and so, the Government has come under severe criticism. On the other side, the people in Eluru are in panic mode after there are a lot of Whatsapp forwards asking people not to drink Municipal water which is contaminated.
Sources say that people with kidney problems and other comorbidities are serious and were shifted to corporate hospitals in Vijayawada.
