After the emphatic victory of Tummala Nageshwara Rao from Palair, he will be vacating his council seat very soon. There are as many as 20+ aspirants for this seat. Tummala got the seat back then via Governor’s nomination. The cabinet then adopted a resolution recommending Tummala’s name.
Now his replacement will also need a resolution by the cabinet. We are said that the Chief Minister is keen on giving the seat to minorities. Former Minister Fariduddin who recently joined TRS from Congress is the front runner. Fariduddin belongs to Medak district. Baig who contested and lost to Khammam Lok Sabha in 2014 election, is also another contender.
The candidate will be decided in a day or two and the cabinet will be passing a resolution in the next cabinet meeting. In the recently concluded by-election for Palair, Tummala Nageshwara Rao won with more
than 45000 votes majority. This is the highest ever in Palair and the majorities previously here did not cross 25000.
