BJP led Central Government had given 1500 Crore for the construction of a Green-field Capital in Amaravati. The Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Act mandates to fund the construction of the capital. There is always a criticism that 1500 Crore is nothing but peanuts for the Capital construction.
But BJP leaders always argued that the amount will be sufficient for the construction of a city. They also clarify that the Central Government is unlikely to fund anything more. This has become a point of discussion in social media after a new about New Delhi Railway Station Revamp came out.
Piyush Goyal-led Railway Ministry has drawn up an ambitious plan to convert the New Delhi railway station into a world-class airport-style transit hub. Sources say that the initial bids for this Rs 6,500 crore New Delhi railway station redevelopment project are expected to be invited in the coming few months.
The Central Government is ready to spend a whopping 6500 Crore for a Single Railway Station but can not fund more than 1500 Crore for a state capital.
