government lands in apAndhra Pradesh government recently conducted a survey of the lands in the capital region to know the extent of government and private lands in the 29 villages that go for land pooling. 52000 acres of farm land is available in the area and there are 14000 acres of government lands while land in possession of private individuals is 38,000 acres.

Most of the government land is under the control of private individuals and the state government is planning to reclaim it by paying a reasonable compensation to the farmers. The government is planning at use land pooling or land acquisition to pool in the targeted 30000 acres in this phase. Government had already revised the compensation package to the farmers whose lands are close to Krishna River but they seem to be not satisfied yet.

We are told that government is planning to pool in the lands from willing farmers first and that will automatically bring pressure on other farmers. If 70% farmers in this 29 villages have entered in to agreements with the government, the state will be even allowed to go for land acquisition which will be less beneficial to farmers.
