It is almost certain that as many as 13.75 Lakh voters will be losing their voting right in the 41.01 Lakh voters of the Hyderabad district comprising of 15 Assembly constituencies. This removal list include those who have either shifted, dead, duplicated or belong to ineligible voters category.
The GHMC Special officer and Hyderabad district election officer, Somesh Kumar invited for the objections and suggestions about these changes by September 8th and the process will be completed by 10th as per directions of the Election Commission of India (ECI).
GHMC would later launch a special awareness campaign for special summary revision of photo electoral roll on October 11 and November 1 before publishing the list of voters in the Hyderabad district. The electoral rolls purification assumes significance in the awake of the upcoming GHMC elections.
