100 Years Of NTRToday is the Legendary NT Ramarao’s 100th Birthday. We need not specially explain the contribution of NTR to the fields of cinema and politics. It is not easy for an actor or a politician to stay in public memory even after many years of his demise.

These are the days people forget actors if they deliver a handful of flops. Even stars do not have such longevity. But NTR – the actor is a phenomenon which lives until the last day of Telugu Cinema.

If someone speaks or write about the history of Telugu Cinema, a few pages will be always dedicated to NTR. That is the impact NTR has created with a variety of roles and the way he impactfully portrayed them.

When a film actor enters politics, we expect him to fail or be naive to get bullied. NTR brought Telugu Desam Party into Power in just nine months after foraying into Politics. NTR did not do politics for the votes, he did politics to touch the hearts.

NTR brought welfare schemes to feed the poor. He brought radical changes by shaking the systems. He took sensational decisions like abolishing Patel, Patwari, and Munsub systems, equal property share to women, liquor prohibition, reservation in local bodies elections, etc.

The decisions he took then were full of caution for the society. Back then, poverty is very high and liquor consumption is breaking families. He introduced schemes like 2 Rupees rice to feed people and did not bat an eyelid to ban liquor which contributed to the majority of the Government’s income.

The decisions like abolishing Patel, Patwari, and Munsub systems, equal property share to women, liquor prohibition, reservation in local bodies elections, etc changed the social fabric of Andhra Pradesh.

Those decisions gave the voice to the voiceless, eradicated the class and caste differences in the society, and vouched for the equality and fair treatment towards women.

The decisions fast-tracked the development of Telugu race and were relevant even today. So many big leaders we see in TDP and other parties were brought into politics by NTR.

The caste, financial, and social backgrounds of those leaders back then took the state by surprise. He brought those people who never dreamt of politics or power in their lives. That has become a trend and compulsion to give representation to all the people for the rest of the political parties.

So, people did not forget NTR even after 100 years and will not forget him even after several 100s of years.
