Megastar Chiranjeevi’s Waltair Veerayya is releasing on January 13th as Sankranthi Special. The songs have got a superb response and the trailer is releasing tonight. Director Bobby has interacted with media on this occasion.
Bobby revealed an interesting sentiment behind the movie title. “We were shooting for Venky Mama in Yaganti. A friend of Nasser garu came from South Africa and gifted me a book. I found a Telugu name Veerayya in the book related to South Africa. I came across the name in a temple and somehow wanted to make a film with that name,” he said.
“Later a fan sent me a video in which Chiranjeevi garu says someone by name Veerayya helped him before coming to the industry. So, I thought it would make a perfect title,” he added.
The director also assured Waltair Veerayya is more than fan stuff. “I initially wrote the story as a fan. But during the Lockdown I realized that people are exposed to World Cinema. Even an autowallah is watching so much content on OTT. Then I reworked the story and developed it. Ravi Teja’s character is added on similar lines. It will be a perfect festival entertainer” he told.
