Few days ago, the producer of Zanjeer remake, Amit Mehra had claimed that he and the writers duo Javed Akthar and Salim Akthar had resolved the Zanjeer royalty issue amicably. He had also started the shooting of the remake. But now every thing came to a grinding halt with the writers duo hiring a legal team to sue the Zanjeer makers.
The writers claim that Amit Mehra had come them for the permission to remake the blockbuster. And they had suggested sitting across the table and sorting out the matter professionally which did not happen. The makers of new Zanjeer had went on to start the movie shooting which irked them.They claim that they have given rights to Prakash Mehra, the producer of original Zanjeer to make the movie just once. They were even paid for the Tamil remake of the movie in 1974.
