Zanjeer

The remake of the 1970s blockbuster movie Zanjeer, starring Ram Charan and Priyanka Chopra, will hit the theatres somewhat later than expected. The movie was set to release on 12th April but will now hit the screens on the 10th of May as a summer special. Rumors say that the reason for the postponement is ‘production snags’, yet nothing is confirmed.

As mentioned already, ‘Zanjeer’ is a remake of Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan starrer super hit film with the same name which was released way back in 1973. Directed and produced by Prakash Mehra, the film established Amitabh as ‘The Angry Young Man’.

Sanjay Dutt will be essaying the character of Sher Khan in the Hindi version while Sonu Sood will perform the iconic role for the Telugu version. Sher Khan’s character was originally portrayed by veteran actor Pran. Directed by Apoorva Lakhia and produced by Produced by Reliance Entertainment, Adai Mehra Productions and Flying Turtles, the film is a bilingual (Hindi and Telugu) action entertainer.
