Young hero Bellamkonda Sai Srinivas scored his first hit with Rakshasudu which is the remake of Tamil movie Ratsasan (2018). Interestingly, even before Rakshasudu hit the screens, Tamil film Ratsasan got released on OTT. Back then boom for OTT was far less unlike now. However, Bellamkonda took the chance of going with the remake and it paid off for him.
Now, Bellamkonda is yet again gambling and taking much bigger risk. Dhanush’s recent film Karnan has won accolades from audience and critics alike. Impressed by the concept and narration, Bellamkonda decided to go ahead with the Telugu remake.
However, here comes the major twist. Dhanush’s Karnan will soon get released on Amazon Prime, either in May first or second week. The film has got thumbs up from the audience and got rave reviews, which had made the hype around Karnan huge. Once the film gets streamed on Amazon Prime, not only Tamil, Telugu audiences but movie buffs across the regions are likely to watch it.
Given that theaters are not operating now owing to the second wave, the viewership for Karnan on OTT platform will be more. By the time Bellamkonda makes and releases the Telugu version, larger audiences would have watched Karnan. Thus Bellamkonda is taking a bigger risk than Ratsasan. But impressed by the gripping tale, the young hero feels the risk is all worthy.
