A young and not so young director seems to have been fed up with waiting. They are now ditching their ‘guru’ and ‘master’ and looking to find new projects from new avenues. The directors are Venky Kudumula and Venu Sriram.
If the latest buzz in the industry is to be believed, both Venky Kudumula and Venu Sriram are set to do their next as soon as things return to normal. It will be after a long gap for the former, and the same is true for the latter but in a different way.
Venky Kudumula has been hanging on since the release of Bheeshma to do a project with a star. A protégée of Trivikram, Venky Kudumula pinned hopes on the success and help of ‘guru’ to land him a biggie. It hasn’t happened for over a year now. With all-stars busy with new projects, he has decided to go ahead with a medium budget star for his next.
With Venu Sriram, the details are more transparent and open. He has had Vakeel Saab recently, but it is the project after that which is the issue. Dil Raju assured Icon, but it isn’t happening anytime soon. All his films so far are on Dil Raju’s production. He, too, has decided to go ahead with a fresh subject for a new banner. The deal seems to be done, and an official announcement is expected in some time.
