However, the unfortunate truth is that Disco Raja and its young and talented filmmaker, Vi Anand has failed to give an end to the free-flowing fall of Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja’s commercial status as a star. It has collected approximately around 6.8 Cr in the opening weekend after a low opening of around 2.7 Cr.
It all started with Touch Chesi Choodu, and since then each successive film is opening and collecting lesser than the one preceding it. We can see the effect in the openings of the latest release Disco Raja. It was the lowest amongst the last four movies. The less said about the US performance, the better.
Vi Anand, with his fresh take on commercial subjects, was supposed to provide relief. Sadly, he has only added to the negativity, commercially, despite bringing out the charismatic swag and screen presence of the star, like never before (in the recent past). The focus now shifts to Krack, which is set to arrive on May 8th.
