The Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone starrer Bollywood film ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ recently hit the theatres and according to latest news, the multi-starrer flick broke the records of the Salman Khan starrer ‘Dabbang 2’ in its opening weekend. Salman’s ‘Dabangg 2’ earned Rs 58.5 crores while Ayan Mukerji’s ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ scored Rs 62.75 crores in its first weekend.
Reports say that the film is the second highest grosser for a non-holiday opening and made Rs 19.5 cores on Friday. Through this film, Ranbir Kapoor has challenged Salman Khan, who creates new box office records with the release of his each and every movie, by outdoing his ‘Dabbang 2’ record.
The film can also face challenge from the upcoming Dharmendra starrer film ‘Yamla Pagla Deewana 2’ which will hit the screens this very week. However the expected trade suggests that YJHD will stand its place even after the release of YPD2. Let’s just hope for the best!
