A big test awaits Samantha personally and professionally now.
This is the first mainstream Telugu release for Samantha after the divorce and given all that she’s been going through of late with the medical condition, Myositis, this film’s success could boost her morale big time. This is what she needs at the moment.
Also, it has been quite a while since Samantha had a mainstream Telugu release. She’d be hoping for Yahsoda’s success to revive her market. And it will also set the stage for her upcoming films Kushi and Shakuntalam, which greatly need her to be in good form.
Yashoda is an action thriller in which Samantha plays a surrogate mother. She’s said to have done many high octane stunts in the film which should display her new facet.
Good word of mouth is needed for the film to pull the audience to theatres in big numbers. We need to wait and see how the film fares in USA and also domestically.
