Jonnavittula Ramalingeswara Rao is a popular face, who is a poet and lyricist. While the senior personality has contributed some noteworthy lyrics to Telugu cinema, not many know that he had a Baahubali offer which was turned down by himself.
Jonnavittula Ramalingeswara Rao’s name was suggested to Rajamouli by his father KV Vijayendra Prasad. “Rajamouli met me, who said that as his father suggested my name, there was no looking back on his father’s decision. They received me well. In fact, I was with the team for almost two months on the story development,” he says.
He continues to reveal what circumstances made him reject Rajamouli’s Baahubali. “After the sessions, Rajmouli suggested that they want me to travel with the team for almost two years, which was impossible for me. I had my own commitments like attended meetings and other gatherings, so I said it is not possible for me,” he adds.
“They paid a good amount for the work I did till then. Neither it was their mistake, nor mine. Owing to the situations I had to back off,” concludes Jonnavittula Ramalingeswara Rao. Well, the senior poet would have had only realised how big the film turned out after the stupendous success.
