After the 2015 disaster titled ‘Rey’ featuring Sai Dharam Tej in the lead, director YVS Chowdary didn’t come up with another movie. Even before ‘Rey’, he took 6 years gap after ‘Saleem’. The present sabbatical is said to be because of his mother’s sensitive health condition.
Now, the director is ready with a fresh script, a romantic entertainer for which he wants to have newcomers to play the lead roles. It’s good to launch newcomers but it would be worthwhile only if he can come up with a fresh story as the times have changed and young directors are coming up with amazing fresh ideas.
YVS Chowdary gave a terrific launch for Ram and Ileana through ‘Devadasu’ in 2006. But, the same Chowdary failed miserably when it came to launching the mega hero Sai Dharam Tej in 2015. It all depends on the kind of subject he chooses and his fresh ideas to make it engaging. Let’s see if he can really keep up with the present times.
