Uttama Villain is releasing tomorrow all over the world including Telugu. It is a new Kamal Haasan film after a long time and also after the success of Vishwaroopam which was widely acclaimed.
The problem for the film especially in Telugu is that it faces stiff competition from another release Ganga that is acted and directed by Raghava Lawrence. The former is a classy tale starring Kamal while the latter is a massy venture in the now popular horror comedy genre.
On surface it would look like things are headed one way but the bookings, especially in city suggest a different picture with Uttama Villain having the advantage in multiplexes. Can it spring a surprise on the first day courtesy these A centers on a holiday?
