OTT culture is picking up big time in India. Some of the best content is coming out in terms of web series in Hindi. Scam 1992 was unanimously branded as the number one Indian web-series made so-far in the country. It also gave SonyLiv to dream big and narrate more untold stories.
One such story that has caught the imagination of many is Rocket Boys based on the nuclear scientists Dr. Vikram Sarabhai and Dr. Homi J. Bhabha. The trailer has been unveiled today and shows Ishwak Singh as Sarabhai and Jim Sarbh as Bhabha. It has been trending and received good applause on social media already.
The trailer showcases how a student and teacher bond over science and grow big in their own worlds. While Sarabhai wants to make India’s first rocket, Bhaha is planning to make an atom bomb unknown to the government. This angle is shown so nicely in the trailer.
The production values, period setup, acting prowess, casting, and production design look top-notch. If this show hits the bull’s eye, Sony LIV will once again walk away with the credit unlike Prime, Netflix, and others who pump money in already made films by other production houses rather than investing in tv series.
Rocket Boys has been created by Nikkhil Advani, Roy Kapur Films, and Emmay Entertainment, and produced by Siddharth Roy Kapur, Monisha Advani, Madhu Bhojwani, and Nikkhil Advani. Directed by Abhay Pannu, the series also stars Regina Cassandra and Rajat Kapur in key roles. It will be out on February 4th.
