It surprised the trade pundits when it was first announced that Akshay Kumar’s ‘Laxmmi Bomb’ is going to go for direct OTT release as a star like him could have easily pulled Rs. 200 crores and more for a theatrical release.
He is a big star in Bollywood but didn’t shy away from OTT direct release. If we take the case of our regional stars like Nani and others, they are still hesitating to go for direct release on OTT platforms.
Going by the present situation and Hyderabad being tagged as the live bomb sitting on coronavirus, there is no chance that Nani’s ‘V’ directed by Indraganti Mohan Krishna is going for a theatrical release in 2020.
Will they wait until 2021 hoping that COVID-19 will be totally eradicated? If not they have to follow the present trend the Bollywood movies are following, mostly. We mean, even the big movies.
